Guitar Picks and a Guitar Tuner are essential accessories for any guitarist.
Guitar Picks:
A guitar pick is a small plastic object used to pluck the strings.
Picks tend to go missing easily; fortunately, they are inexpensive.
We find that medium-sized picks are ideal for kids.
Guitar Tuner:
A good quality tuner will help tune your guitar. Please consider purchasing an electronic tuner to help tune your acoustic or electric guitar quickly and easily. They are inexpensive and easy to use.

These accessories are not essential, but can be very beneficial to most guitarists.
Music Stand:
A music stand is a useful tool for guitarists. It not only provides a place to hold learning materials, but also allows a guitarist to view them and, at the same time, maintain good posture. This makes practice sessions and lessons easier, more effective, and more enjoyable. The one we recommend is heavy duty and can easily support the weight of a three-ring binder containing learning materials.

Guitar stand:
A guitar stand can be a valuable aid for a young guitar student. When not in use, the stand provides a safe place to keep the guitar. A guitar stand can also encourage \"practice.\" When a student sees the guitar in a prominent and easily accessible location, he or she is more likely to pick it up and play.

Guitar Foot Stool:
A guitar foot stool can be a useful accessory for guitarists, especially for kids who may have trouble holding the guitar. A foot stool can help to raise the leg, supporting the guitar and keeping it in a comfortable playing position. If your child experiences the common problem of the guitar sliding off his or her leg while playing, a foot stool may remedy the situation.

Guitar Strap:
When in a seated position, most kids do not need a guitar strap. However, some younger kids may find that a strap will help support the guitar, even when they are seated. A strap will also aid them in holding the guitar when they are standing, which is sometimes fun for kids.

Guitar Capo:
Kids are often unable to sing the low-pitched notes in some songs, making a capo particularly important for kids who like to sing. Capos clip onto the guitar neck to allow the strings to produce notes at a higher pitch. With a capo, your student will instantly be able to raise the pitch of the song to match his or her own vocal range.
(Note: The style of CAPO we recommend will fit all electric and most acoustic guitars. However, it may not fit certain acoustic guitars that have a wider than average neck.)
